Ritual Protocol 01

Fine Porcelain & 24K Gold Accents

Royal Gold Floral Tea Sets • Gold Baroque Porcelain Cups

Hand Wash Only • Never Microwave

Wash Temperature

Tepid to warm water (maximum 40°C / 104°F) using mild, pH-neutral liquid soap. Avoid sudden boiling water splashes directly onto gold filigree surfaces.

Drying Ritual

Dry immediately after rinsing using soft Egyptian cotton or ultra-plush microfiber cloths. Air drying causes mineral scaling that dims the gold luster over time.

Stacking & Storage

Place round felt pads or squares of unbleached linen between saucers and rim edges. Unglazed footing rings on porcelain can scratch adjacent gold leaf.

Microwave Ban

Never place gilded porcelain in the microwave. The pure metallic gold will cause electrical arcing, permanently damaging both the kiln glaze and your appliance.

Ritual Protocol 02

Handcrafted Stoneware & Dinnerware

Terroir & Dawn Ceramic Plates • Textured Dimple Ceramic Mugs

Dishwasher Safe • Top Rack Recommended
01

Thermal Shock Advisory

Avoid violent temperature shifts. Do not transfer bowls directly from refrigeration into a pre-heated oven, or run cold tap water over a hot baking dish fresh from roasting.

02

Dishwasher Washing Protocols

Place on the upper rack with ample space between plates to prevent contact vibration. Use mild, non-citrus, phosphate-free detergents without bleaching agents.

03

Buffing Cutlery Traces

Matte glazes can occasionally exhibit superficial grey pencil-like streaks. This is metal transfer from commercial stainless steel cutlery — not ceramic scratches. Buff out with a damp sponge and gentle baking soda paste.

Ritual Protocol 03

Artisanal Blown & Sculpted Glassware

Lion Sculpture Gold Baroque Tumblers • Aqua Blue Ombre Stemless Glasses

Preserve Crystal Refraction

Eliminate Mineral Film

Commercial dishwashers etch soda-lime and lead-free crystal with abrasive silica wash cycles. For crystal clarity, rinse glasses with warm distilled water mixed with a tablespoon of clear white vinegar.

Sculpted Bases

For sculpted stemware like our Lion Base Tumblers, clean detailed crevices with an extra-soft horsehair or nylon bristle brush.

Two-Cloth Drying Method

Hold the bowl of the glass with one lint-free cloth while using the second to gently polish the rim and interior to avoid stem torque.

Ceramic & Clay Ambient Lighting

Dry Dusting Only • Electrical Safety

Electrical Safety

Always unplug lighting fixtures from the power outlet before handling or cleaning. Never introduce water, damp cleaning sponges, or spray detergents near cord entries or bulb sockets.

Terracotta & Clay Bases

Unglazed clay surfaces absorb moisture readily. Dust exclusively with a gentle ostrich feather duster or dry microfiber cloth. For persistent spots, buff lightly with a dry natural gum eraser.

Solid Brass & Gold Hardware

Fittings and finials are treated with a light protective beeswax polish. Polish gently with a dry microfiber cloth without chemical metal polishes, which strip the artisanal unlacquered patina.

Quick Reference Matrix

The Golden Harmony Matrix

Essential practices to protect your collection's structural integrity and decorative finish.

Artisanal Best Practices

Recommended
  • Use mild plant-based soaps: Warm water paired with natural detergents keeps glazes radiant.
  • Gentle sponge side only: Wash exclusively with the soft foam side of non-scratch cellulose sponges.
  • Soft felt separators: Interleave saucers and dinnerware with protective cloth dividers during stacking.
  • Immediate hand drying: Wipe moisture promptly to prevent chalky limescale deposits on rims.
  • Gradual temperature adjustment: Allow dinnerware to come to ambient room temperature before washing.

Practices to Strictly Avoid

Prohibited
  • Abrasive scouring pads: Steel wool, copper scouring scrubbers, and harsh pumice powders permanently scratch glazes.
  • Microwaving gold accents: 24k luster heats rapidly and arcs, permanently blistering the rim paint.
  • Thermal shock transitions: Direct transfer from frozen storage to hot ovens causes catastrophic micro-fracturing.
  • Direct rim-to-rim friction: Stacking unglazed pottery bases directly on smooth porcelain faces causes ring scuffs.
  • Submerging electrical lamps: Water ingress destroys wiring assemblies and weakens fired terracotta.

Have an unusual question?

Contact Concierge

Will the 24k gold leaf wear off over time?

When hand-washed with mild soaps according to our guidelines, the high-temperature fused 24k gold leaf will remain radiant for decades. The primary cause of gold erosion is the use of abrasive scouring sponges or automatic dishwasher caustic salts.

Are cutlery marks permanent on matte plates?

No. Stoneware fired at 1250°C is substantially harder than common stainless steel cutlery. What appears as a gray scratch is actually micro-deposits of soft steel left behind by serrated knives. A 30-second buffing with a baking soda paste eliminates them completely.

What is micro-crazing and is it harmful?

Micro-crazing refers to microscopic hairline patterns that can develop on traditional glazes over years of thermal expansion. In our high-fired vitrified bodies, this does not compromise water resistance or hygiene, but instead adds authentic wabi-sabi character.

Can I place cold ceramic bakeware in a heated oven?

Always allow ceramics to adjust to ambient room temperature for at least 30 minutes before placing into the oven. Alternatively, place the ceramic into a cold oven and allow both the dish and the oven to warm simultaneously to prevent thermal tension.
